Ages 18 to 23/28 – my five darkest years...
Writing about this period of my life is incredibly difficult. That's why it's taken me so long. The event I mentioned earlier, which happened when I was 17, catapulted me into an industry I never intended to end up in. It was solely due to my stubbornness that I got caught up in the frenzy of the music industry. Back then, there weren't video productions in the industry like there are today. There was Shaho Casado, Street Cinema, me (later known as 'the kind of art'). Little supply and high demand. Before I knew it, I was deeply immersed in it, touring with well-known rappers, travelling all over Germany on music video shoots, and becoming personal friends with some of them. "Wow, that's so cool." - that's what I thought back then too. Everyone my age in Mainz knew me. I brought two French music giants to my neighbourhood. But towards the end of my 23rd year, I realised something. Why don't I laugh like I used to? Why have I been so distant from my family for years? Why am I so NEGATIVE all the time? The reason was, of course, immediately clear to me. The music industry. Everyone in this industry suffers from some kind of excessive addiction. Every conversation is only about one thing: drugs. The sexualisation of women. Money. Whether managers, musicians (I deliberately avoid using the term 'artist', because art = expression and, above all, German music = theft), producers, videographers. All wannabes who think they're the only ones who've understood life and are above everyone else. Disrespect and rudeness at the highest level. A poison for society. I suffered because of it. Thank God I was able to stay away from the drug scene and all the issues I mentioned earlier. But that negative energy took hold of me and my state of mind. I wasn't getting anywhere in life. I'd thrown away and wasted five years of my life. Nowadays, I hardly listen to music myself, and especially when German music comes on, it brings back a trauma. I had to break free... I don't want to write any more on this subject, because I think it's clear just how much I detest this music industry. (I'll be talking about it in detail in a podcast soon, in case anyone's interested...) At 23, it was clear: I had to become myself again and chase my real dream. Enjoy life and smile again... And that's exactly what I did...
