Year 25/28 – I'm not like them.

When you've been in an industry for years where you hardly have to fight for gigs anymore - they just come flying your way - it's very hard to make a decision. But I'm not a child anymore. Enough is enough. That sinful money will make me neither happy nor sustainably successful. Hardly anyone in the industry has understood why I'm doing this. Religious justifications are thrown overboard in the music industry anyway. Every rapper is a wannabe Muslim, Christian, whatever. I'm not taking that statement back either. So I didn't care whether people understood my motives or not, but as a man of faith, I cannot identify with the degradation of women, the glorification of violence and drug use, let alone support them visually. Rejection after rejection. And although I'm in a financial bind, I don't care that it's financially unwise. But you know what. I've slept so well. I've been sleeping so well ever since. Minimising negative energy. Whilst the world is in the midst of a third world war that's getting worse by the day, I'm glad that my life is once again dedicated to my storytelling career with a positive impact, so that the opportunities are opening up to create bigger stories by spreading more positivity. Stop glorifying the music industry and junkies. Focus on better things.
