Year 5/28

We didn't have much, but we had football and bedtime stories. After our parents sent us to countless sports, I only liked one: football. As a bambino, I played for TSV Schott Mainz and fell in love with the ball. When playing football I forgot that I was laughed at in kindergarten because I only had one standard coin from the Pokemon collection. And when it was time for bed, I experienced something magical that I always looked forward to during the day and that had a significant influence on my life at an early age. Dad told us bedtime stories. And no, they weren't fairy tales. He told me real stories. Namely, the ones he loved most of all: the history of Islam. And the way he brings these beautiful stories to his children, so that they can draw their own conclusions and lessons from them, is purely art. His storytelling inspires me to this day, and everyone who knows this man knows that his words speak volumes, his sentences speak books.
